BOOKS OF THE BIBLE

A Christ-Centered Pastoral Survey of the Old Testament provides an accessible journey through all thirty-nine books of the Old Testament. Developed from Dr. James D. Croone Sr.’s popular one-minute Bible studies, this pastoral survey helps readers understand each book’s historical setting, intended audience, central message, and place within God’s unfolding plan of redemption.

Each chapter combines a concise overview with a “Bible Minute,” practical insights explaining why the book still matters, and reflection questions designed to encourage personal application and further study. Rather than offering an exhaustive or highly technical commentary, Dr. Croone presents essential biblical truths in a clear, engaging, and approachable manner.

Written for new believers, mature Christians seeking a fresh overview of Scripture, and pastors or teachers preparing to share God’s Word, this book reveals the faithfulness and character of God throughout the Old Testament. The journey concludes with the four hundred years between the Testaments, preparing readers to encounter the promised Messiah in the New Testament.
